The Details

At My Service Depot, we’re proud to provide our Smart Service software to help field service companies run their businesses. We see how they have succeeded as companies and as employers of hard-working employees in skilled trades, like HVAC, plumbing, electrical work, fire protection, landscape design, and construction (to name only a few specializations). We believe that for many looking for an alternative to traditional four-year college programs, a career in these industries offers a path to success, as skilled workers and even business owners.

That’s why we started the Smart Service Scholarship Fund. Initially administered by the Delaware County Foundation, the Smart Service Scholarship Fund awarded $1,000 once a year to students entering into, or continuing their education in, skilled trades education and training programs. After awarding four separate winners over the course of five years, the scholarship was put on hold due to the pandemic. We are excited to announce that as of 2022, the Smart Service Scholarship fund is back in an exciting new format through a non-profit company Bold.org. Applying is simple. Start by visiting our new Smart Service Scholarship Fund page and tell us what career path you are interested in pursuing and why.

The annual deadline for applications is April 15, 2025. We’ll announce the scholarship winner one month later, on May 15, 2025.

Scholarship awards will be available for qualified educational expenses and paid directly to the recipient’s educational institution. The school you are attending must have a financial aid department in order to receive the funds.

Award contributions to the fund are tax deductible. Donations are made to the Bold Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit (Federal Tax ID #84-2719715). When your donation is processed, you’ll receive an email with documentation confirming your tax-deductible donation.

Eligibility Requirements

The applicant must be attending or planning to attend an accredited program, certificate program, or a degree program (which may be a four year or non-four year program) in the skilled trades or a related field (including any field service occupation).

Bold.org has a list of general requirements that can be found here.
